wish to live

Wish to live moves my paintbrush, makes the dandelion into the wondrous rose...so this  artwork made my day today. Thank you came out once again. Such is a story of this digital painting. Greetings from Art by Tomas.

metaphorical comfort

When I was taking pictures of trash in my yard, people wondered what I was doing. The above misunderstanding was beneficial - it resulted in the title of the image above. I named this artwork as metaphorical comfort. Did you remember the old  lady  who was starving in the wood when the traveler met her and shared his last loaf of bred with the needy? So lets recall the moral of the fairy tale. That's my  alphabet - the ABC of the fine arts.

orphaned principal staircase

ladder of success --- 2010 Tomas Karkalas

The comprehension of human spirituality (sense of our oneness) enabled me to welcome the unknown passersby as my dear buddies. Thus "Hi, dear friends!" defined my ladder of success. I think though my words may confuse you a bit, yet the visual story of the picture you see above will talk eloquently enough. There is only one question. What direction do we move? Up or down?
The artwork expresses the emotions that may mesmerize and the message that should warn at the same time. So what direction to take? To boast of nice handicrafts, or confess my dependence on your feedbacks?

I dedicated this post to Top Sites Tuesday #61 - Orphaned Blogs. Today's theme on Blogdumps  as points to the reality I face as forces to choose either to muse on why my other blogs were not updated for so long already or to guess how long Art by Tomas will endure. New picture starts my each post, yet each new post buries the previous artwork in the archives. Whether somebody would recall their author, or just shrug - Who was that Tomas who sold nothing? Why should we know him?

it is me  2010 - Tomas Karkalas

Silence bloom in the confessional pictures

Bookmark and Share

confessional picture 2010
When I was taking the pictures, I tried to compose all I saw in my viewfinder properly from aesthetics viewpoint. That was natural (looked like the ABC). The miracles started later, when I was browsing through my sketchbook. Not I labeled my handicrafts but my deeds looked at me. I recognized my whole life in these colors. Is that possible?
When we talked about the symbolism of the art, everything looked clear, yet the discovery of the searching glance from the hole on a pathway home gave me a good shake. So while art should please the eye, I sit in an awe looking at the garbage. Is it me?

art parallels

Share

I took a picture, however it became the artwork only when I put it on a web. Then I released the image from my sketchbook and it started its own independent being. Now I am looking at the tulips and guess how my current thoughts relate to what was done by me once. Are those two parallels or just my fantasy, the wish to escape the fruitless tree’s destiny?

The questions revived the flowers. They were growing on self-consciousness’s soul and it was obvious that not I planted them. I even didn’t look for them (didn’t garden the flowers) – Tomas Karkalas just took a picture.
So while the sower (the creator) rejoices over the blossoms, the viewer looks for him in dark spots of the earth beneath the flowers and the gnomic shadows compose the other picture. Which one do you see on above?

Interaction of art and interpretation

Old Spring -- digital painting by Tomas Karkalas 2010
Only face to face communication reveals that the technology we us either makes us the better ones or buries in the illusions.
Pictures in oil and the digitals look differently yet that means nothing at all. The applied technique can change just the outward look of my artwork but not the essence. It is your feedback (our face to face communication) that will show the real value of my blog.
Trying to put all the above in foreign language enables me to wish to continue to think further now... So, though at a moment my achievements may be described as zero, but there is still a hope that one day somebody will discover my artworks on a web archives and will put them into the book about the people who lived here once upon a time.

Kindhearted returns home

Kindhearted returns home -digital painting by Tomas Karkalas 2010

Once upon a time the wounded heroes were healed as they kissed the ground of  the homeland , yet today's medicine prefers the surgeon's knife to fairy tales. So the time came. Kindhearted returns home.

story of a tree in a mirror of my art

Fine arts starts with the recognition of self in otherGet this Widget

story of a tree by Tomas Karkalas 2010
It was fun to take pictures. It is fun now too. I am to write the description to my photo, so I have a chance to say something wise and beneficial to all by putting  Story of a Tree in a mirror of my art on this blog. I have an opportunity to relate my personal diary to the tree of knowledge!  Such outlook made my outwardly meaningless dreaming over a cup of coffee into something worthy the deeper examination.

Our responses to the gift of life do not always reflect the opportunities we have.
How do you read your Bible?

Trying to reply enabled me to relax

motto disguised under the random thoughts

on a way of discovering myself - Tomas Karkalas 2010
The close-up at the pictorial scenery makes it look like the abstraction. It is funny indeed while gazing at what's in front of me to watch what hides inside of me. Yet the photography doesn't lie. My heart testifies on behalf the light, the artwork reveals the picture of love.

raw shot

this is a raw shot, yet the photography can't be named the accidental pick. It looks like an overview of  my daily walk. The visionary figures disguised as the trees  yet didn't delude me. I recognized my persecutor at a glimpse. What should I do? What would you do? How to ward off a blow of  Time Challenge?
While the heroes have the magical weaponry, my sword is just an old soap-box. (no good camera = no high quality photography)   thus there is nothing to enjoy in my pick. Yet the photo attracted me (pierced deeply into the heart nevertheless. I identified my current helplessness to change a jot in the disabler's existence with the tree figure and the unexplainable transformation have happened - I was unexpectedly comforted.... by whom?

One view and two pictures - the simple shot and high questions . BlogDumps'  Top Sites Tuesday posts requires  to share TWO thoughts too.  By the way, nothing happens by an accident. So if you liked my raw shot please click on a button below.

The hide and seek of the art

Hide and seek of the nesting box

something happens each time the paintbrush touches a paper. Sweet talks about happiness and success cease and some image appears on a screen.  The creative work always enriches the artist. For example,  I can either claim that this is Tomas' art or see the above as a sketch and trash the picture. So to speak, the possibilities are the numberless. So what would you choose?  The nesting box or the hide and seek of the art?
