Spiders do not laugh

Pictures arise due to the received inspiration, yet people tend to admire not the Hope Giver but the artists. The world neglected God's Word and put the butterfly in the plaster. Spiders do not laugh. Yet I do not fear them. I liked the post about God by  ZenBananas. Read more here...http://zenbananas.com/stories/seeing-god/

Gift to see

I was used to see a key to the meaningful life in my activity, and the arts (creative work/painting) enabled me to grow in self-confidence. It was fine to make the papers, and that confuses the most, because nothing was earned by my activity. All I have  was gifted to me for a free. Have a look at the photo below:
Here is my wife and grandson - my beloved at the the see.
Many carry with themselves the family photos in their purses, carry what is prized the most. Such way you see on above not some art prints by Tomas Karkalas but his wife with the grandson in the hands. So the simple photo helped me to uplift my eyes once again and the recognition of the God's grace above my handicrafts as restored my spiritual life as returned a meaning to my "fuzzy looking" colors. That was gift to see.The recognition of God's supremacy in our affairs put us on the wing of the gratitude.

transformational art at passing by the flowers

THE WORLD'S PREMIER PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT WEBSITE defined my pictures as the transformational art of Tomas Karkalas. Peter Shepherd was so right. while painting, the transformation happens indeed. Todays picture Passing by the Flowers proved the above once again - while painting I was overfilled with the incredible peace, now I am meditating on a meaning of my activity. The process of creativity awarded me with the smile, yet what was transfered to you? Can the abstract art replace the reality of the flowers? The picture can inspire the longing for a sip of fresh air, yet can the silence (the typical feature of the exhibition halls) replace a smell of wild landscape that points to inside and above to God?
It was fine to paint, and I am glad to look around now.

Homeless Love

While being on a road, I met the Homeless Love.
Archives awake to road
Good sculpture should look fine from all sides. Artists deal with this task quite easily, yet in the ordinary life the activity of many rarely talk about their inner beauty. So our marvelous soul is forced to hide under the social status of a man. Consequently many hurry to remove their eyes from the unlovely passersby, yet are they ugly indeed? What is the real beauty?
I entered the hospital for the people with psychiatric disorders and took a picture here. While looking at the paper swan on a windowsill, it was hard to believe that this beauty was made by the sick people. I looked around once more and took another picture. The paper flowers were looking so sweet – they reflected no pain that indwelt the hearts of the creators so richly. What does that mean? Please read my post the Test of love. I tried to look at beauty in disguise of the litters more attentively on Art by Tomas blog

Test of Love

While pictures talk eloquently, many fail to listen them. Look below:
Photo story TEST of LOVE 2010 by Tomas Karkalas
The fly that sleeps upside-down forces the passersby to revet their eyes . The likewise happens when while talking about the compassion, people encounter with the dirty homeless too. As an artist, I should sit back in awe towards so rich nature underfoot and I indeed identify myself with my paintbrush (see "wild pansy taught me the fine arts') I am taking Test of Love with my each picture anew.
Life of a disabler tightly binded me with multitude of limitations, yet living with the disabilities awarded me with deeper appreciation of the love- taught me the lesson of the power of the sharing.. Thus my participation in the work of art therapy club Modus Vivendi made me free- free to online writing. Art by Tomas welcomes each and all.

dragon-fly in town of metaphors

The crazy walls overlooked an offense of being unwitnessed by passersby, and the dragon fly arrived in town. Yet the comforter was not noticed till I took a picture of the entrance door to my home and thus the dragon-fly in town of metaphors appeared on Art by Tomas blog. See below :
photo painting by Tomas Karkalas 2010
That was the real recreation. The miracle of meditation. Though the painting still looked gloomy but my readiness to listen enabled me to hear the space. Thus I was overfilled with the love that sprang out from under the walls of the silent stones and rejoiced over the dragon-fly greatly. He gifted the road stick to me. That was the art of being here and now.

editor-in-chief of art by Tomas Karkalas

The shot was made, so time came to name the picture, to introduce the photo to Butterfly in the Plaster.

my editor-in-chief
Here is my grandson Simonas. I call him the editor-in-chief of all my blogs and the artworks I share with you on the web. Such expression may sound like the polite saying, yet it is the sacred truth.  Our Children (their presence) as if question us "what do we do?" Their silence is the most challenging experience. That always awakes, urges us to act the best we can. Our children awake and inspire us - change the way we see the world. So my grandson is my art teacher, my editor-in-chief. Simonas gives a meaning to my paintings and the joy for being here and now.

wild pansy taught me the fine arts

Click on the artwork for better view.
The beauties of nature knocked on the heart and awaked, inspired me with the desire to breathe freely again. Lovely pansy erased the memory of the bitters of life, taught me the wisdom of smile by its example. Thus a look at the flower enabled me to take the paintbrush and so discover my city in a new light. As a saying goes "each picture is a self-portrait of the artist" At a glimpse these words may remind a poetry , yet they perfectly express the ABC of painting. In the beginning, the artist looks for what's beautiful, then identifies himself with his paintbrush and thus each stroke reveals the beauty of human soul -the spiritual realm - the picture beyond the picture. Such is my life aesthetics

desire to smile

The photo painting Desire to Smile leaves the contradictory news to the beholder
The details that compose the picture cry for the broom, yet there is light too. The sunbeam dances on the high walls and enables us to see our dreams free from any interpretations. What we see depends only on  our viewpoint on soul & body relations.
Can Fine arts embellish what unfit to any otherwise? The gloomy picture forced me to look around more attentively, to make a close-up of my worries... Thus I was sat back in an awe. Just click to have a look at the Life  Aesthetics...

mosquito on life aesthetics by Tomas Karkalas

At times it takes more time to name the picture than to take s shot. Look below. What do you see?

The tiny flying insects  painfully bite, yet the above looks like a giant...consequently, this image as if does not belong to the threatening group of our enemies, isn't it?
However, does that sense of personal safety create satisfaction or makes cloudy reality look more attractively?

The above picture was a closeup at the spider's catch, but not the dried dish caught my eye here, I recognized myself in my surroundings. Such outlook on nature drastically changed my experience - sat me back in an awe toward the multitude of the revived metaphors that knocked on the heart and opened my eyes much wider than any encyclopedia.

Typically people rejoice at the pictures of the art therapy classes. The colors amuse many but not the life of the artist attending the art therapy class. So what does fine art reveal? Our reality or the dreams?

Let's return to the picture. It is my self-portrait - the life aesthetics

Garden of musings

This photo painting enabled me to look at myself in the light of the statements I left on my blog.
It was good to paint (I like to make the pictures) yet what message my Garden of Musings will deliver to you?

The inspiring 'you must be the change you wish to see in the world' helped me to deal with the reality I face. Gandhi replaced my wish to bid farewell with the willingness to take the paintbrush once again. I highlighted  the famous quote as the title of my work.
The history not only explains what is where, but challenges too, so I gave thought to. While I was proud of reading the sayings of others, would any quote me? I had a pleasure to paint, yet would anybody wish to smell my flowers, to see my art in their own living space? Art colors embellish human being, yet who gathers the followers?

art in the high grass

This is the picture of the high grass. It was such indeed, and the nature comforted till it was transfered from the wood to the artwork. Painting added the new meaning to the image- reminded about the life essentials and thus challenged me to open the eyes wider. People typically are afraid of the harvest bugs (fear the possibility of the painful consequences to their bodies) yet do not care for their soul at all. Thus the wasp sting becomes more threatening than the spiritual realities. The above looks silly, yet that defines our reality- overview the city papers. The picture may look attractively, yet the colors of the art in high grass look dramatically. Have a look at freedom to choose. What is your response?

reminiscence of life in art to recovery

reminiscence of life by Tomas Karkalas 2010
Books awoke the thoughts for fine arts could open the eyes. Thus this painting knocked on me- pierced deeply into the heart. The vision served to me like the vitamins for life : the artwork introduced  the healer, which patiently teaches us to read the metaphors via the sharing of the best we have at the moment.
Now I want to invite you to look at the photo of the ferris wheel.

art whisper

This picture looks like non commercial view, yet the image has power to whisper too.  We need just to unlock the hearts. Lots of figures compose the dance of love. It was enough to went outside to sit back in an awe.
The painting helped me to see the silence and to hear the air. I was commissioned to spread these news-to invite you to the party of the gratitude.
While famous places attract the tourists, only comprehension of the sunbeam enables us to enjoy our hear and now. That's the greatest award.

dance of love

dance of love by Tomas Karkalas 2010 60x80cm
While looking underfoot, I enjoyed the picture of dance of love. The whisper of air talked so eloquently- gave a birth to this painting.  The grass disappeared on my canvas to awake the symbols in each tiny spot. It was really fun. I admired the beauty of life underfoot for a free. Was that not a miracle? So how should I name my painting now? Is it the landscape art or the divine guidance? While painting spread the surface with the paints, the viewing enabled me to raise up my eyes and filled the heart with the gratitude.

portrait of the soul

The need to name the painting questions what do I do. It was clear just one - once upon a time, there was an apple. As you know, photos do not lie.

painting and painter

The painting always refreshes and heals the soul - enables the painter to open the eyes and confess :
Thank you. It was fine to watch the light that was free from my musings on life and thus freed me from any shadows.
This painting looks much better in it's original size (60x80cm) than on a screen.
Wow, that's symbolical too , isn't it?
So there are no wonder for paintings by Tomas Karkalas call not to gaze at them but to unlock the heart.
